I am following Highway 125（国道125号). Roadside restaurants, tire stores, car dealers, rice fields, tiled-roof houses that seem from another time and place, buildings sitting by themselves next to plots of vacant land. The side of the highway is about the same everywhere, but with certain distinctive ways of arranging the space.

it must lead to something,

a shrine, a memorial marker, a park?

(something more than a view of the other side)

but there is no sign saying what that is.
